This Marylebone duplex apartment was totally refurbished. With the use of joinery elements and luxurious finishes such as marble and glazed screens, the Client’s home was transformed. Elements such as underfloor heating were incorporated to maximise space and prove a comfortable environment in a previously draughty apartment. The Client’s artwork was considered at all times to enhance this bespoke home.
The entrance hall to the apartment features the Client’s large artworks, the use of dramatic marble and lighting create a strong statement as soon as you walk in the front door.
The open plan dining, living and kitchen rooms had the existing cornicing enhanced with the use of a dropped ceiling lighting feature bringing light to the centre of the plan. Background lighting was also introduced to create different moods according to the functions that are required throughout the day and evening.
The Rimadesio glazed screen provides privacy and also acoustic and quality to the dining area.
The Statuary marble island gives a focal point and worktop space to the U-shaped kitchen.
The bespoke kitchen was designed taking into consideration every detail to incorporate the Client’s love of cooking.
The dining area sits in the centre of the open plan, the subtle ceiling lighting and picture enclave provide a focus with the dining table.
The dimensions and detailing of the island were critical to achieve the storage requirements along with the ergonomic use of the kitchen space.
A beautiful bespoke bar was introduced in the living/dining area. This also incorporates office storage cupboards.
The marble detailing of the joinery was selected with the client and the mirror work etc makes the most of the bar experience. The bar also becomes a background light feature.
The existing staircase was totally overhauled and painted in a colour which compliments the dramatic marble flooring.
The low level lighting and pink patterned stair runner gives a lovely warm glow to the stairwell.
